Join Gnomon School of Visual Effects the VES, AAUGA and RFX for an exceptional evening with special guests from Digital Domain showing how they created the stunning effects and imagery in The Making of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
For The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Digital Domain created a 100% 3D CG version of Brad Pitt’s head that carries the lead character’s performance for fifty-two minutes of the movie – over 325 shots.

Steve Preeg
Character Supervisor
Steve Preeg is a Character Supervisor at Digital Domain. He has been creating digital characters for more than a decade, for movies including Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, two Lord of the Rings films: The Return of the King and The Two Towers, King Kong, and I, Robot. Steve recently received an Academy Award® for his work as Character Supervisor on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He also created visual effects for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Flags of Our Fathers and other movies. Steve holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jonathan Litt
Lighting Supervisor
Jonathan Litt is a Lighting Supervisor at Digital Domain. Most recently he completed work on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and received a Visual Effects Society award for the Best Single Visual Effect Of The Year for his contributions to the movie. Jonathan’s previous credits include Spider-Man 3, Constantine, The Matrix Revolutions, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, The Perfect Storm, and Galaxy Quest. He holds B.S. and M.Eng degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Paul Lambert
Compositing Supervisor
Paul Lambert served as Compositing Supervisor at Digital Domain on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and received a Visual Effects Society award for Outstanding Compositing for his work on that film. Paul built the HDR pipeline from on-set data that included more than 100 different HDR setups, which helped the lighting team’s development of physically-based lighting tools. Paul’s previous credits include Mission: Impossible II, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Day After Tomorrow, Flags of Our Fathers, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
