You Won’t Believe the Artwork in the Gnonom Gallery Art Show!

I love before and after comparisons. They do a great job of illustrating just how big of an impact time can have on a project. As much as I’d love to be able to compare your artwork now to what it would look like after you attend Gnomon, that’s pretty much impossible. I can’t predict the future, so there’s no telling what kind of incredible ideas you’ll come up with over the next few years. What I can do, though, is show you the amazing art pieces that have been created by current Gnomon students and alum.
Gnomon School of Visual Effects just unveiled a new gallery, which contains a collection of stunning illustrations, maquettes, and several full-sized characters inspired from recent movies like Hellboy.
To start off, take a gander at this bad boy.
Really puts the action figures that you used to have as a kid to shame, doesn’t it? Well, that statement probably isn’t accurate. I suspect that a lot of you still have action figures and sculptures of dragons or demons. If you didn’t have an overactive imagination and a love of artistic creation, then you probably wouldn’t be reading an art school blog!
Let’s see what other art pieces are on display.
Ack! I’m sorry I asked. These things give me the heebie-jeebies. Of course, not everything was hideous and repulsive.
This sculpture is actually quite beautiful in its own peculiar way — a cross between horror and angelic beauty.
Personally, I’m a big fan of this fella:
But I’m a dog lover and my favorite color is green, so I guess that isn’t very surprising.
So, could you get this good? Could you create amazing 3D art pieces like these and get hands-on experience working on the next major sci-fi or fantasy blockbuster?
Of course! Why not? Every single one of these art pieces was made by artists. The only real difference between you and them is that they’ve gone through extensive professional training to hone their skills. Without even exaggerating, these art pieces could very well be the “after” in your personal before-after artistic transformation. Just imagine having a beautiful art piece like this one in your portfolio:
Actually, let’s put all this artwork aside for a moment. You want to know which “after” pictures I like the most? Shots like this one:
In addition to honing your skills as an artist, Gnomon School of Visual Effects will put you in contact with other artists who are just as talented and passionate as you. Yeah, I know it sounds cheesy, but you’ll be able to develop lifelong relationships — both personal relationships and business partnerships — as you strive become a skilled artist.
