Character Modeling and Sculpting
Combine Traditional Human Sculpting and Digital Modeling Techniques
Build biped characters that are balanced in the application of anatomy and technical efficiencies; fusing the traditional art of sculpting human form with digital modeling techniques.
Modeling characters has its roots in classical sculpture and its understanding of structure, musculature and proportions. Lectures will cover the use of anatomy as it pertains to modeling bipeds and also speak of the technical needs for creating quality in deformable and detailed surfaces.
Production modeling of characters for this course uses Maya software for building base meshes and ZBrush for sculpting detail.
