Digital Sculpting and Anatomy in ZBrush
Use ZBrush to Convey Accurate Anatomical Form
This course builds on the skills acquired in ten-week ZBrush course, guiding students through using ZBrush to convey accurate anatomical form.
Lectures for this course cover the fundamentals of digital sculpture as it pertains to representing the human form. Focusing on thevformal relationships between the major masses of the human body students create a humanoid sculpture, paying special attention to gesture, form and proportion. Further attention is given to skeletal structure, bony landmarks and major surface muscles. Topics covered will include: comparative measurements, proportion, points of muscular origin and insertion, as well as, the manner in which these forms change through their range of motion. During each lecture the ZBrush sculpting toolset is used to define and render the area in question, illustrating how to effectively use the tools at hand.
At the conclusion of the couse students have an understanding of how to use the ZBrush toolset to sculpt, as well as a foundation in anatomical structure and terminology.
