Environment Design
Design Believable New Worlds
This course focuses heavily on the fundamentals of perspective, composition, and techniques inherent in designing environments as applied to animation, film and gaming. A critical technical relationship between floor plans, elevations and plan projection sketches is emphasized to underscore the translation of concept design to real world or digital environments. Demos and discussions will help students compose concept sketches that maintain scale, proportion and perspective while understanding the needs of the client. The class is not a course in finished rendering but provides the necessary knowledge base for creating believable environments that translate smoothly in the entertainment industry production process.
