Figure Drawing
Get Taught by Drawing Master Michael Hogarth
Let Michael teach you the drawing skills learned by being the son of highly acclaimed dynamic anatomy artist Burne Hogarth. Drawing the figure is a foundation skill which has universal application in all aspects of artistic communication. A figurative quality persists not only in all living things, but its rhythm is apparent in all good design. Thus, the principles involved in drawing the figure transcends merely drawing human form, but extends into enabling the artist to draw a variety of subject matter using any instrument of drawing, whether it is graphite pencil, charcoal, paint, or computer software.
This course deals with the analyzes and application of both traditional and unconventional principles and techniques in drawing the human figure. The student learns to see, analyze and conceive of free-flowing form, while the principles explored enable the artist to be a more competent and effective communicator, through drawing, regardless of what the subject matter or what tool is used.
