Improve Your Figure Painting Skills
Painting the figure is a foundation skill which has universal application in all aspects of artistic communication. A figurative quality persists not only in all living things, but its rhythm is apparent in all good design. Thus, the principles involved in painting the figure transcends merely painting human form, but extends into enabling the artist to draw a variety of subject matter using any instrument of painting.
This course deals with the analyzes and application of both traditional and unconventional principles and techniques in painting the human figure. The student learns to see, analyze and conceive of free-flowing form, while the principles explored enable the artist to be a more competent and effective communicator, through painting, regardless of what the subject matter or what tool is used.
