Polygon Modeling 1
Learn Maya's Polygon Modeling Tools
Studios and game developers are increasingly using polygon modeling tools in the creation of their projects. This course is a comprehensive look at the complete suite of Maya's polygonal and subdivision surface modeling tools. Instruction introduces the entire work flow of surface and character modeling techniques, beginning with primitives and working into complex, finished models.
Lectures cover the production advantages of polygonal/subD modeling and how it eventually affects the texturing and setup workflow. In addition to the conventional polygonal modeling tools, this course devotes a significant portion of attention to "unwrapping" the models created. The mystical world of UV mapping polygons is covered, including simple primitives and the most complex characters and surfaces.
