Studio Techniques for Creating Digital Mattes
Combining images into a final frame for film or video has become more than just putting image A over image B. Today's digital tools have been developed through years of producing projects and challenges without the advanced tools now available.
This course will begin to examine techniques and software used in creating, extracting and prepping 2d digital mattes. Emphasis will be on articulate rotoscoping and digital Paint. Exploring the use of luminance keying, difference keying and chroma keying, students will generate high quality mattes, for combining elements in a final composite.
