Welcome to the MonsterVerse (don't worry, you'll be fine)! Gnomon is proud to welcome an all-star alumni panel for a behind the scenes look at Godzilla vs. Kong. Marcella Brown, Jared Krichevsky, and Matthew Millard will break down what it was like to work on the monster franchise hit and share insights into what their path from Gnomon to studio life looked like.

During the livestream, our panelists will discuss their individual roles and how each department connects so work can be integrated into the production pipeline smoothly. Viewers will get to see exclusive artwork to understand the step-by-step process of creating new characters and visual effects.

Godzilla vs. Kong is the fourth installment in Legendary's MonsterVerse and introduced new creatures for the titans to battle. Jared and Matthew will share their experiences in exploring several variations before creating Mechagodzilla, Warbat, and Nozuki, and Marcella will discuss what it was like using Flowline to create the fire, smoke, and water.

Whether you’re interested in creating characters and effects, learning about 3D software or are just a fan of creature feature storytelling, you won’t want to miss this exciting event.

Marcella BrownFX Artist

Marcella has been working for over four years in VFX and Animation. Some of her credits include Godzilla vs Kong, Snyder Cut Justice League, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad among others. She is currently working at Walt Disney Animation, and her next project is Avatar 2 starting in September 2021 with Weta Digital.

Matthew Millard Concept Artist / Look Development Lead

Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Matthew has a love for creatures and creepy crawlies! He has been working in VFX for over five years spanning from Concept Art to Full Production of screen-ready characters and creatures for film, as well as shot lighting and compositing. His credits include projects such as Venom, Rampage, Ready Player One, Godzilla vs Kong, Stranger Things, Detective Pikachu and many more.

Jared KrichevskyConcept Artist

Jared is a creature and character designer working in the visual effects industry. With his decade of experience, Jared has designed many iconic characters who have graced the big and small screen, including Jiminy Cricket on ABC’s Once Upon a Time (2011),The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), Horus and Set in Gods of Egypt (2014), Elliot the Dragon in Pete’s Dragon (2016), the Crooked Man in James Wan’s The Conjuring 2 (2016), Dart in Stranger Things 2 (2017), and Pennywise the Clown in the blockbuster horror film IT (2017), Mechagodzilla for Ready Player One (2018), and Mechagodzilla for Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Some of Jared's exciting upcoming projects include Antlers (2021), Black Adam (2022) and M3GAN (20XX).

Adam HartelGnomon Representative

As Recruiter, Adam travels to high schools, community colleges, and trade shows to educate prospective students about Gnomon’s academic options and provide information about careers in the entertainment industry. With over two decades of experience working in nonprofit, Adam has used his skills in visual art, photography, and design to create socially conscious initiatives in collaboration with art students and professionals. He has lived and worked abroad in Norway and the Netherlands while traveling Europe as a community developer and public speaker. Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts from LIFE Pacific University.
